Lana Hamburger
Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser

Lana Hamburger has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from The University of California at Los Angeles, and is licensed by the State of California as a hearing aid dispenser. Lana has been a licensed hearing aid dispenser for over 20 years. However, she has had a personal hearing loss, and has used hearing aids herself, for over 45 years. That makes her an expert in what really works on real people in the real world!

Here is Lana’s story: “I started wearing hearing aids at age 9. Unfortunately, I never found anyone who understood my hearing loss and listening needs. Either I could not hear well, or the sounds hurt so much I could not wear the hearing aids. This was so frustrating for me, and my family, that I spend many hours just crying. Eventually I decided to do something about the problem. I went to school to learn everything I could about hearing loss and hearing aids. I wanted to become an expert to help myself, and my family (my mom and siblings also have hearing problems). I also wanted to make sure other children and adults did not have to go through what I did. I eventually learned enough to fit myself properly with hearing aids.

I now use my knowledge to insure that my patients get the right hearing aids for their hearing loss and listening needs. I make sure that they have a positive experience with hearing aids and actually benefit from using them. For me, each and every patient I come in contact with is a member of my family. I treat them with the same care and concern that I treat my mother, my sister, and my brother.” Because of her personal experiences with hearing loss and hearing aids Lana is great with patients who have tried hearing aids before but failed. She can really understand what you experienced and can usually find a solution that provides both great clarity and comfort.

Lana is married with three grown children and two lovely grandchildren. When Lana is not playing with the grandkids you can find her watching the Lakers, going to movies or visiting art museums.
